Virtual Server how it all works

Virtual Servers a flexible alternative to physical hardware. With a physical or dedicated server you need to plan for future requirements as hardware upgrades mean server downtime or even migration to a bigger, newer server. Virtual Servers are not tied to any particular hardware so not only can the specification be increased or decreased at the touch of the button but they are not at risk of hardware failure. Simply Cloud offer a resilient cloud platform that is designed to self heal meaning we can offer a 99.99% uptime guarantee.

The virtual platform

Our virtual infrastructure consists of multiple servers and underlying SAN storage all configured to be resilient and self healing in the event of a hardware failure, giving you the best possible uptime. The physical servers have a virtualisation layer known as a hypervisor installed, this separates the physical host server hardware from the guest virtual server providing virtual hardware to the guest. As the virtual server is no longer tied to any particular hardware, like traditional physical servers, we are able to automatically move servers around our platform to give best performance and also self heal in the event of a host failure.

No longer being tied to physical hardware has other additional benefits, you can change the specification of your server at the touch of a button making it more powerful or removing CPU, memory or hard drive space so that you only pay for what you need.
